JOB OVERVIEWThe candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the Warehouse, including staff, training and an efficient inventory system. Management of stock receival and support to the logistics team with dispatching of goods. The candidate will liaison with our contractors to ensure that their demands are met. The Warehouse Manager must be alert and not operating under the influence of drug and alcohol at all times. KEY RESPONSIBILITES/ MAIN DUTIESLead, train and supervise the Warehouse staffMaintains warehouse staff by training, coaching, counselling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
Submit weekly payroll information for staffMaintenance of physical facility including the maintenance scheduling of equipment and the general warehouse.
Conduct in-house training and approval of Company Lift Truck operators Organize up to three teams of six to eight persons each to carry out functions as necessaryMonitor all recievals coming into the warehouse stock and out to productionMonitor all finished products moving out of warehouse stock to deliveryWork closely with the production department in arranging daily production plansCollaborate with the logistics department to arrange for goods to be shipped out to meet sales demand and adequately utilize warehouse staff on trucksEnsure the team’s full compliance with the occupational health and safety procedures Effectively schedule staff for minimum downtime and optimum outputMaintain and efficiently file dispatch recordsAdvise management on needed actionsSafeguard Warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts annually; reconciling with data storage system. Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
Work closely with store managers to ensure goods are delivered to the location(s)Attend management meetingsQualifications· A minimum of Three (3) years’ experience working in a Warehouse· Tertiary level training in Business Administration or relevant certification in the field· Prior experience supervising and scheduling delivery teams· Certification as Lift Truck Operator· Familiarity with warehousing processes· Familiarity with computer systems and data entry proceduresOther duties· Perform any other duties and/or responsibilities given within the legal framework as Warehouse Manager whether minor, major or incidental tasks related to this portfolio.
