Oversee payroll processing, including wages, bonuses, deductions, and garnishments, ensuring compliance (e. g. , FLSA, IRS). Manage and mentor the payroll team, fostering accuracy and accountability. Administer payroll software (e. g. , ADP, Paychex, Workday) and implement upgrades/integrations. Prepare/review payroll reports, tax filings, and reconciliations; support audits. Develop/maintain payroll policies and procedures for efficiency and compliance. Partner with HR on benefits, timekeeping, and onboarding/offboarding; collaborate with finance on budgeting. Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries promptly. Identify process improvements through automation and best practices. Monitor payroll-related laws and industry trends for compliance. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (Master’s/CPA a plus). 3+ years of payroll experience, including 1+ years in leadership. Expertise in payroll systems (e. g. , ADP, Paychex, Workday) and advanced Excel skills. In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations and tax compliance. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred. Multi-state or international payroll experience a plus.
