You will be a member of the Divisional Management Team responsible for leading and delivering the operational management of the eight medical directorates along with a wider remit of development of performance management systems and techniques across the whole Division. The post holder will ensure the delivery of efficient and effective medical services, including delivery of all operational targets, access targets, financial management, quality of services to patients and the redesign of services towards best practice standards, within available resources.The post holder will provide leadership, strategic and professional management combined with operational responsibility forMedical Directorates working with the Executive team, Divisional Directors, Locality Directors and other senior managers tooversee the provision of a modernised, patient focused service.The post holder will provide vision and leadership in the development and implementation of the overall medical services.To lead on LHB-wide and national “Focus On” or pathway strategies relevant to the Division and lead on the service improvementagenda in Outpatient and day case services across the organisation.This role provides direct support to the Medical Division, Divisional Director, General Manager and Deputy General Manager in the delivery of the Divisional Agenda and will deputise in the absence of the Deputy General Manager.Main duties of the jobManagement & Leadership - Provide leadership and direction for Medical Services, ensuring clear communication and implementation of policy, objectives and agreed targets. Work with Clinical Directors and Directorate Managers to understand performance improvement.Communications & relationships - Maintain an open, proactive and collaborative culture across The Directorates supported by effective two-way communication systems and processes that contribute to high levels of staff satisfaction.Analytical and judgement skills - Exercise judgment of high complex figures and situations, which require the analysis, interpretation, and comparison of options. Be able to analyse and present complex information and ensure appropriate use to build the case for change at both a high level and for operational staff.Planning/Performance review/activity - Develop program reporting templates and oversee the governance of programmes, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. Analyse and resolve highly complex problems to successful conclusion.Policy & Service development - Establish & maintain systems for assessing service users’ views on quality of services provided involving patient’s relatives and their representatives in the planning and development of services.Human Resources - Lead on Medical Directorates staff change and consultation on highly complex issues: ward, service change.
