This role encompasses technical planning, project management, and project delivery, offering the chance to work across a varied portfolio of projects.In your day-to-day work, you will prepare and process resource consent applications, assess environmental effects, and contribute to the preparation of district plan changes and community engagement initiatives. Acting as a project or task manager, you’ll also assist in preparing project briefs, developing fee estimates, and updating project plans to ensure successful project outcomes.What you'll do Prepare and process resource consent applications, including assessment of environmental effects, notices of requirement, and outline plans.Undertake tasks associated with lodging resource consent applications, such as public consultation and identifying regulatory pathways.Assist with and lead community engagement activities on behalf of clients.Prepare district plan changes, strategic documents, submissions on plan changes and policy statements, and supporting technical reports.Conduct research, feasibility studies, and produce reports suitable for client review and presentation.Provide input into project planning and assist project managers in scoping projects, including verification activities.Advise clients on resource management plans, policies, and relevant legislation.Present evidence and advice at local authority hearings.Act as Project Manager or Task Manager, ensuring deliverables meet client needs and projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. What you'll bring Bachelor’s degree in Resource and Environmental Planning or Urban Planning, or a similar qualification recognised by the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI).Preferably a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in a similar planning role.Membership of NZPI or actively working towards it.High emotional intelligence, integrity, and a client-centric approach.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Current clean driver’s licence.Why Napier?Located in the heart of Hawke’s Bay, Napier offers an exceptional lifestyle that blends professional opportunity with natural beauty.
