Plant Controller – Highland Foundry Ltd. We’re a family-owned, industry-respected foundry based in Surrey, BC; with deep roots, strong values, and a collaborative team that takes pride in building things that last.We’re looking for a Controller to join our leadership team — someone who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment and wants to shape financial decisions that drive real operational impact.About the RoleAs our Plant Controller, you’ll serve as the financial leader for the facility, overseeing accounting operations and providing clear, actionable insights to support decision-making. You’ll manage a small, capable accounting team, streamline financial processes, and work closely with operations to improve cost efficiency and profitability.What You’ll Do·        Lead all accounting functions, including GL, AR/AP, payroll, and month-end close.·        Own timely month-end and year-end close; prepare monthly financials, year-end documentation, and required reports for the corporate office.·        Maintain and enhance product costing models in a high-mix manufacturing environment.·        Perform variance analysis (labor, materials, overhead) and communicate insights to management.·        Prepare cash position reports, forecasts, and financial plans aligned to business objectives.·        Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, and capital project tracking.·        Partner with operations to support lean initiatives and process improvements.·        Manage reporting tools within the ERP to deliver reliable financial and operational insights.·        Supervise and develop a small accounting support team, fostering accountability and collaboration.·        Review manufacturing costs, overhead, and G&A; recommend overhead absorption rates and cost-management actions.·        Participate in annual strategic goal-setting.·        Facilitate and complete corporate requests and audits.·        Perform other related tasks as needed.What You Bring·        Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance (CPA preferred).·        5–10 years of experience, including 3+ years in cost accounting or plant controllership.·        Manufacturing experience required; foundry or heavy industry preferred.·        Team leadership experience with excellent communication skills. ·        Strong MS Office skills (Power BI preferred).·        Strong ERP background; Epicor is an asset.·        Proven technical accounting, variance analysis, and financial reporting skills.·        Hands-on, collaborative approach; excellent analytical/problem-solving; high integrity.Why Join Highland Foundry·        Stability: Family-owned and proudly Canadian, with over 50 years of steady growth.·        Collaboration: A close-knit team where your ideas and leadership make a direct impact.·        Purpose: Play a key role in shaping the financial strategy of an industry leader in stainless steel casting.·        Support: Health and dental benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.If you’re a results-driven financial leader who enjoys being close to the operations and wants to make a measurable difference, we’d love to hear from you.Join a company that values craftsmanship, integrity, and people — and help us continue building excellence, one casting at a time.Apply Now!
