Plant Director - Kombolcha Brewery

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to head our factory operations , driving performance, efficiency, and excellence across all production activities. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision with hands-on operational expertise to lead a multidisciplinary workforce and ensure world-class manufacturing standards.What You’ll DoLead the development and execution of the factory’s operational plan in full alignment with BGI Ethiopia’s corporate strategy.Manage the plant’s annual operating budget, including production costs, labor, and inventory, ensuring compliance with corporate financial guidelines.Drive process optimization initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance cost efficiency.Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational and financial performance, implementing corrective actions where needed.Oversee maintenance of machinery, utilities, and equipment to ensure continuous, safe operations.Enforce strict quality, safety, and environmental standards in compliance with company and industry regulations.Foster a high-performance culture through coaching, performance management, and employee engagement.Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability throughout all levels of the organization.Represent BGI Ethiopia with local authorities, stakeholders, and vendors, ensuring productive partnerships.Conduct daily factory tours with Heads of Departments to review deliverables, identify challenges, and drive alignment.Collaborate closely with Health & Safety teams to ensure compliance with all workplace safety protocols.Provide comprehensive site activity reports and updates to senior leadership.What You BringProven experience in business planning, production and operations strategy, and leading complex change within a corporate environment.Strong track record of managing, motivating, and developing multi-disciplinary teams.Demonstrated success in budget management, cost control, and delivering financial targets.Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and decision-making abilities.Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.Ability to develop and execute innovative operational strategies while maintaining service continuity.A clear vision for the future of corporate support services within a dynamic FMCG business.Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Deep understanding of BGI Ethiopia’s culture, business operations, and values is an added advantage.Qualifications Education:Minimum BSc in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Food Processing Engineering.Master’s degree preferred. Experience:10–12+ years of progressive experience in a large FMCG or beverage manufacturing organization, with at least 5 years in senior management roles overseeing full plant operations, P&L, and workforce management.
