With our proprietary matterr process, we transform PET waste into high-quality monomers that can be reused without any loss of quality and integrated seamlessly into existing supply chainsTo support our growing team, we are looking for a motivated Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer (m/f/d) who will contribute both to our industrial-scale project in Hürth and to our R&D activities in Braunschweig.AufgabenE&I Engineering – R&D Center (Braunschweig)Plan, specify, and select instrumentation, electrical equipment, and control systems for pilot and laboratory facilitiesDesign and review specifications, datasheets, and tender documents (incl. safety instrumentation, measurement & control systems, PLC/DCS, electrical infrastructure)Support the execution and evaluation of experimental trials, ensuring proper measurement and control setupsProject Coordination (Hürth)Develop and review E&I design deliverables: single-line diagrams (SLD), instrument index, loop diagrams, I/O lists, and control structure.Act as key interface with suppliers and engineering partners for E&I packagesReview and approve technical documentation, ensuring compliance with standards and project requirements (Engineering, Procurement construction & commissioning)Coordinate instrumentation and automation scope with process engineering, safety, and construction teamsReview vendor proposals, perform technical bid evaluations, and coordinate procurement of electrical, instruments and control systems.Supervise contractors during installation and ensure compliance with design, quality, HSE & cost requirements.Support cost estimation and schedule tracking for E&I deliverables.Support commissioning preparation and ensure knowledge transfer from R&D to industrial scaleGeneralOccasional support during experiments in the R&D CenterDocumentation and reporting of results, specifications, and project statusRegular travel to Hürth (2-3 times a month)ProfilDegree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a comparable fieldProven experience in E&I engineering in chemical or process plant projects, with 4-6 years of experience on the job.Solid knowledge of safety instrumentation, measurement & control systems, PLC/DCS, and electrical infrastructureFamiliarity with relevant standards and tools (IEC 61511, ATEX, SIL, EPLAN or similar)Structured working style, high level of responsibility, and enthusiasm for innovative technologiesStrong communication skills and willingness to work in an interdisciplinary teamWorking language is English; German knowledge is beneficial for daily communication.
