The team partners across OIT to design, implement, and optimize leading-edge technologies—including cloud, network, Zero Trust architecture, automation, and AI/ML—using agile and DevOps practices. The work enables USCIS to modernize IT systems, enhance mission delivery, and support major enterprise initiatives such as digitization, cloud migration, and software-defined networking.
The Platform Administrator will be responsible for administering and managing platform environments, ensuring smooth operation of cloud infrastructure and services. This role requires expertise in Linux and Windows systems administration, cloud infrastructure management, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and monitoring/alerting systems. The administrator will focus on maintaining performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing automation to optimize platform operations. Responsibilities Administer and manage enterprise platform environments, including cloud infrastructure and services. Perform Linux and Windows systems administration, including patching, configuration, and performance tuning. Manage container orchestration environments (Kubernetes) for application deployment and scaling.
Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure high availability and performance. Troubleshoot platform issues and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve operational challenges. Utilize cloud-native monitoring tools and automation frameworks (e. g. , Ansible, Terraform) to optimize workflows. Document platform configurations, operational procedures, and best practices. Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to support infrastructure automation, reliability, and scalability initiatives. Qualifications REQUIRED: 5–7+ years of experience in platform administration, cloud infrastructure, or related roles. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field strongly preferred; Advanced degree preferred. Proven expertise in:
Platform and cloud infrastructure management Linux and Windows systems administration Container orchestration with Kubernetes Monitoring and alerting systems for enterprise platforms Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Ability to ensure platform performance, reliability, and scalability in multi-cloud environments. Must be eligible to obtain DHS Suitability clearance.
