We are the exclusive offshore partner for a major UK retail digital transformation program with one of the UK’s largest retail companies.📍 Location: Remote (Turkey-based, aligned with UK hours)💼 Contract Duration: 6 months (initial), with a strong possibility of extension🚀 Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer with core skills in AWS and CI/CD to join our SmartShop team. SmartShop is part of the wider Connected Stores team, responsible for the mission-critical SmartShop channel as well as in-store digital screens and ticketing. This role is key to providing SmartShop with a secure, resilient, and scalable cloud platform, as well as supporting application developers in building and deploying their code.✅ What to Expect as a Platform Engineer:This role is in the Platform team, one of 4 squads within SmartShop (around 25 engineers in total), who build and support the SmartShop mobile applications and back-end services.Maintaining our production cloud systems, including out-of-hours support,Regularly reviewing our application platform, ensuring it’s up to date and cost-effective,Working with back-end software engineers to help them build reliable release pipelines,Work closely with InfoSec to keep the SmartShop platform secure,Big on automation, including deployments and testing (IaC, CI/CD, GitHub Actions),Building out Monitoring and Alerting tools, improving observability,Jumping on a Pull Request to provide constructive feedback,Building relationships with colleagues – mentoring and sharing knowledge.✅We’d Love to Hear from You If:You’re a Platform or Cloud Engineer with a strong background in AWS,You have experience building scalable and robust environments in an agile team,You’re curious and ask questions about technologies and use initiative to figure things out,You like having ownership of your work and seeing it through.🛠️Our Tech StackAnsible, CloudFormation, AWS (must)ECS: EC2 and Fargate, EC2, AMI, ASG, ALB, RDS, Lambda, WAFRedis, SQS, Docker, PythonBash, Git, and Makefile, GoCDGitHub Actions, OpenSearchKinesis, Logstash, NewRelic
