The roleEquity Economics is looking for a Policy and Evaluation Analyst and/or Manager to support our domestic and international development practice. As an experienced Analyst and/or Manager in social and/or economic policy, the Analyst and/or Manager will bring expertise in undertaking research, designing evaluations, conducting data analysis (qualitative and quantitative), drafting reports and proposals, and providing policy input as part of a team. The role will work across the domestic and international team on a range of social and economic policy challenges.Critical to the role is an ability to work in a dynamic, flexible environment, and in collaboration across internal project teams and clients. The Analyst and/or Manager will play an important role supporting the team on a range of projects, requiring an ability to manage a range of tasks across multiple social and/or economic policy areas.The Analyst and/or Manger will report to a Senior Project Manager/Senior Economist and be supported by a Director level mentor in their discipline. Key responsibilities 1.              Conduct policy research and evaluations across a range of domestic and international social and economic projects, including literature review, supporting qualitative data collection and stakeholder engagement, and analysing quantitative data. 2.              Prepare draft reports, papers and presentations for a range of projects and audiences, including internal and external stakeholders.3.              Support the team with project management and coordination, including preparation for client meetings, document management, coordinating stakeholder engagements and project administration tasks.4.              Provide other support as required to support business objectives, including monitoring tenders and new business opportunities, drafting proposals, capturing project outcomes, and contributing to how we communicate our impact. Selection CriteriaThe candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience in the following areas:1.     Experience (3+ years) as a policy or economics analyst in government, not for profit and/or consulting setting in one or more of the following areas:·      Social policy ·      Health, aged care and disability ·      Education and skills ·      Economic or community development ·      Experience working with Aboriginal community-controlled organisations and/or First nations policy highly desirable. 2.     Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research, evaluation and analysing data to develop policy insights and implications. 3.     Excellent written communication skills and fluency in English.4.     High proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel to develop professional reports and presentations. Term of employmentAn initial six-month contract is proposed – part-time (min 0.6 FTE) or full time.
