Want to join us?In Höegh Autoliners, you will be part of a global leader in deep sea Ro/Ro transportation services, with 90 years of experience in the shipping industry.You work alongside inspiring and brilliant business leaders and colleagues to deliver high quality services to global customers.Job Summary:Support Höegh Autoliners’ policy and regulatory work across the EU, Norway and selected international arenas, with a focus on sustainability, maritime, trade, and transport regulation.The role contributes to monitoring, analysing, and communicating regulatory and political developments, and helps translate these into clear, practical input for the business.Main responsibilities:Monitor and analyse maritime, climate, environmental, carbon and trade regulations across the EU, Norway, and international bodies (e.g., IMO), identifying key developments and assessing their implications for Höegh Autoliners.Maintain active monitoring of EU institutions, Norwegian authorities, and other relevant organisations, contributing to relationship-building with industry associations, research institutions, and other partners.Contribute to policy foresight work by scanning emerging EU, Norwegian, and global trends, and evaluating their potential long-term impact on the company.Prepare concise and well-structured briefings, summaries, presentations, and materials for internal meetings, training sessions, and workshops.Support alignment of business practices with applicable sustainability and maritime regulations, and help update internal guidelines and compliance routines in response to regulatory changes.Collaborate with teams such as Regulatory Affairs, Sustainability, Operations, and Commercial to integrate regulatory requirements into company processes and projects.Assist in preparing and coordinating company input to public consultations, position papers, and meeting briefs.Act as a first point of contact for general inquiries on sustainability and maritime policy, escalating complex issues as required.Qualification:Degree in Political Science, Law, International Relations, Public Policy, Environmental Science, Maritime Studies, or a related field.Relevant experience in regulatory affairs, public policy, or sustainability policy, preferably within maritime, transport, energy, or related sectors.Understanding of EU sustainability and maritime regulations, with strong interest in Norwegian and global policy developments.Ability to conduct thorough research, interpret regulatory texts, and present findings clearly and succinctly.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Norwegian is a strong advantage.Organised and detail-focused, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Knowledge of current and emerging sustainability regulations affecting the automotive and marine shipping industries.Experience working with or within industry associations, NGOs, or public institutions.We believe that building and sustaining a diverse and inclusive environment for working and learning leads to a better workplace, better ideas and more inspiring conversations.
