Job Description

Role Purpose:Responsible for leading the Policy and Communications Team in South LatinAmerica Cluster markets ( Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Bolivia and Paraguay), including the development and implementation of policy, external communications, internal communications and patient advocacy strategies and the boosting of Pfizer reputation.This position will support Pfizer’s engagement with key external stakeholders, to create a more favourable environment for Pfizer’s business and accelerate access to key innovations into public sector; and serve as a a key interloccutor with Government stakeholders to support Pfizer’s business.The role also involves the executive support to the Cluster Country Manager, business units and cross- functional areas in anticipating, assessing the impact of the external policy environment on business strategy and providing strategic counsel in business planning decisions. Key Accountabilities & ResponsibilitiesLead Policy and Communications team driving strategic support and securing a successful coordination and implementation of policy, communications and patient advocacy efforts across the cluster in alignment with cluster business priorities and Pfizer objectives. Work closely with the Cluster Country Manager and other key internal stakeholders, to achieve organizational goals and objectives through policy, communications and patient advocacy initiatives. Develop, communicate, and implement a macro-level strategic short/medium/long-term plan that effectively shapes the environment to create a favorable operating environment for Pfizer.  Lead the external advocacy strategy with policy makers, chambers, relevant associations, think tanks, academics, and other third parties, to advance for a favorable operating environment and increase the access to company innovations. Lead the strategic approach and proactive engagement with national and provincial governments in Argentina, in partnership with the country manager, business units and cross-funtional leaders to accelerate access to key innovations into public sector. Contribute to increasing Pfizer’s reputation among different stakeholders through effective third party engagement, relationship management, and meaningful advocacy. Provide timely information to internal areas regarding the political environment and trends, as well as upcoming policy developments, proving strategic recommendations. Develop internal and external documents and materials to support external engeagements, including briefing notes, position papers, correspondence, among other materials. Partner with communicatins manager to secure the implementation of an effective internal communication plan and, secure the execution of external communications efforts in alignment with cluster business priorities, Pfizer global position and local regulations. Qualification And ExperienceMust have a minimum of 10 years of experience in public policy, consulting related to healthcare policies, access policy or , government relations, and/or corporate affairs. Bachelor degree required. Advanced Degree in health/public policy and/or political science preferred. Knowledge of healthcare and pharmaceutical sector,including policy and medicine access challenges. Deep knowledge of Argentina healthcare system, major players and decision-makers , including public health system navigation. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective, innovative policy/public affairs initiatives and effective external engagement that deliver results. Demonstrated ability to develop and deploy appropriate public affairs and policy actions (advocacy, lobbying, stakeholder engagement plans). Strong understanding of healthcare ecosystem and 360 advocacy strategies approach, including communications strategies and patient organizations engagement. Strong understanding of pharma business strategy and key drivers of commercial success Highly skilled at anticipating, identifying, and addressing environment and policy emerging issues and related risks that could impact Pfizer's business Strong ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders. Skilled at advocacy influence within internal/external matrix organizations. Skilled at navigating complex environments through range of internal and external stakeholders. Strong executive presence and interpersonal acumen, highly substantive and collaborative. Demonstrated ability to succinctly convey relevant information at the right time and with the proper context and seek input as needed. Excellent oral and written communications skills.
