Reporting to the Associate Director of Administration, the PPM will bring together project managers working on various projects from across the GRI and with our external partners to build a cohesive methodology and approach to project management policies and procedures, effective communication, efficiencies of resources, and consistent practices including software, reporting, schedules and timelines, and resource management. The PPM will serve as a team manager as well as having project management responsibility for their own projects, as needed. Working closely with the GRI’s senior leadership team, the PPM will be accountable for ensuring all GRI projects align with our goals and mission and are creating the desired impact within budget and established timeframe.Major Job ResponsibilitiesDirects and oversees the strategy and implementation of GRI projects ensuring a consistent approach to project management across the institution's portfolio of projects, using a clear and defined professional project management methodologiesLeads and mentors a small team of project managers, fostering a culture of high performance and professionalism; provides project management strategies and guidance to others within GRIOversees a wide range of GRI projects to ensure visibility and meeting overall scope and objectives for our investmentDevelops and delivers detailed portfolio reports, tracking progress, resource allocation, and project outcomes to GRI senior management, stakeholders, and Senior Budget AnalystDevelops criteria for evaluating programs, proposals, benefits, specializations needed, and other pertinent information related to project assignmentsWorks with project managers and project sponsors to develop project budgets, schedules, work plans, resource requirements, cost estimates and projections, and status reportsDevelops and implements plans to communicate and explain project methodology and processes to interested groups and team membersReviews and recommends proposals and bids to management and guides proposals through governance processesOversees the monitoring and management of costs of all GRI projects to ensure project completion within budget and established timelinesMonitors and manages project quality to ensure project deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the terms of the project contract or specificationsWorks with project managers and project sponsors, identifies potential project risks and difficulties and designs strategies to mitigate or avoid themCreates documentation procedures to capture changes in original project plansPlans, supervises, and assigns projects to project managers according to capacity and expertise needed for projects. Initiates complex or enterprise-level projects, obtains authorization and commitment, and demonstrates business need and project feasibilityQualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related field 8-10 years of experience as a project manager, with at least 2 years of proven work history of managing teams of project managersProject Management Professional (PMP), or other project management framework certification required, or certification in processExperience working within the arts, cultural heritage, academic, or non-profit spheres is highly desirableKnowledge, Skills And AbilitiesDemonstrated ability to lead teams and manage a large project portfolio with significant budget oversightExperience managing major systems and facilities implementation projectsExperience delegating and overseeing assignments to ensure successful and timely completion and to obtain the cooperation of others within and outside the unitDemonstrated ability to lead and work in partnership with others and foster mutual working relationships with peers, staff members, and othersDemonstrated negotiation and facilitation skills; report preparation and presentations; effective communication skills; data management and assessment skills or experience; and to plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of othersPossesses an ability to think strategically and creatively, to anticipate technology trends, to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions, to analyze complex information, and to transfer that thinking into cogent plans for a complex organizationExtensive knowledge of project management fundamentals, waterfall and agile methodologies, and toolsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, adept at engaging with diverse teams and senior executivesAbility to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic environmentAbility to motivate team members to work toward goals in a mission-driven environmentProficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Workfront, Jira)Highly organized and detail-orientedWillingness and ability to travelBenefits And PerksHere are just some examples that Getty offers/provides for full-time employees:Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance coverage, starting on date of hire.
