Job Description

Objective of this roleThe Portfolio Strategy and Planning Manager is responsible for defining a comprehensive portfolio strategy that aligns with UNN's development objectives, and ensuring the development of new services and solutions that meet customer needs. The position holder will lead short, mid, and long-term revenue development strategies, balancing market demand, competitive positioning, and technological advancements. A key part of this role involves cross-functional collaboration alignment and planning to ensure seamless execution of the portfolio strategy and effective support for the company’s overall business objectives.Responsibilities and TasksProduct Portfolio Roadmap Planning1) Drive UNN's overall ICT Portfolio strategy by continuously assessing and analysing its relevance and fit against external developments (market dynamics & competition, global trends, regulations) to uplift UNN's products and services to international benchmarks and ensure alignment with national ICT agenda2) Define and align UNN's Product Roadmap (3 year rolling) with UNN cross-functional team and external parties (e.g. SalesCos, Partners) to identify and introduce new and enhanced ICT services to Brunei's market with a focus on service quality and customer experience excellence while ensuring alignment with business objectives3) Conduct ongoing market and competitive analysis of national and international ICT trends and development to identify opportunities for portfolio expansion, customer needs, and emerging trends, and validation of possible relevance for UNN4) Identify and propose new product and service ideas, driving innovation to meet changing market needs and customer demands5) Responsible for the overall product and service strategy along the life cycle6) Responsible for the strategic revenue and profitability developmentStrategic Planning7) Analysis of the AS-IS performance of the service offering portfolio and definition of the strategic implications8) Identify strategic challenges, gaps, risks and opportunities through structured analysis framework based on internal and external research and data analysis with a focus on value delivery and value protection for UNN to reap maximum benefits of its investment and to minimise loss from maintaining legacy products9) Lead strategic commercial assessment projects and implementation of commercial measures for existing portfolio elements/challenges/gaps10) Design of strategic go-to-market models based on roadmap and portfolio strategy11) Research and collection of data; analysis of information to come up with insights and strategic recommendations (revenue or portfolio impact)12) Assess portfolio risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of the product portfolio.Revenue Planning & Business Planning13) Responsible for Commercial Business Planning activities and relevant documentation at company-level (e.g. revenue model, opex budgeting model, board of director's deck) of the annual Financial Business Plan, ensuring submission are in line with Finance's requirements and target dates are met14) Drive UNN's revenue development by defining and executing portfolio strategies that deliver financial results across short, mid, and long-term horizons.15) Drive definition of revenue planning model to enable accurate revenue projections based on product logic, projected demand and pricing strategy16) Facilitate revenue planning discussion between key stakeholders (e.g. Product, Pricing, Demand Management, Sales & Marketing) to ensure ambitious yet realistic revenue targets are planned & identify relevant OPEX needed to support revenue targets17) Planning of revenue development, Profit & Loss and other relevant strategic product KPIs, its alignment, presentation and documentation18) Develop story board for UNN's current and future revenue outlook to support quality discussion between Senior Management Team and shareholdersStakeholder Engagement & Communication19) Lead alignment of strategic product roadmap with Leadership Team, ensuring clear prioritisation and a focus on maximising business impact, taking into consideration customer value and market demand20) Presentation of product and service/portfolio strategy and the strategic roadmap to relevant stakeholders internally and externally21) Acting as the strategic counterpart from product management to all internal stakeholders22) Co-chair of UNN's Product Board to drive governance of UNN's Product lifecycle and its investments on new Products and ServicesTeam Leadership & Development23) Lead and mentor an analyst, providing direction, feedback, and support to enhance team performance and professional growth24) Coordinate and lead virtual teams from various departments, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with portfolio strategies and goalsStrategic PlanningQualification and experience requirementsBachelor's degree or Master's Degree (preferred) in Business Management, Strategic Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, TelecommunicationMaster of Business Administration (MBA)Master's Degree / PhD in relevant fieldsProduct/ Program/ Project Management CertificationsKnowledge on ICT products (Fixed, Mobile, DCIT, Cyber Security, IoT) and related managed servicesSkills of business and financial modelling including planning of revenues, profits, and other related KPIs
