Job Description

Uppsala University, Department of Information TechnologyIn this project we will conduct research towards trustworthy and robust use of neural networks with applications in epidemics. We consider a Bayesian framework and two specific proposed lines of research: (1) constructing suitable priors via neural networks approximations, and (2) enhancing the sensitivity and efficiency of posterior diagnostics checks. Both parts are meant to support data-driven computational modeling for applications in epidemics. For a further description of the proposed project, see this document. The Department of Information Technology holds a leading position in both research and education at all levels. We are currently Uppsala University’s third largest department, have around 350 employees, including 120 teachers and 120 PhD students. Approximately 5,000 undergraduate students take one or more courses at the department each year. You can find more information about us on the Department of Information Technology website.Read moreThe position is hosted by the Division of Scientific Computing (TDB) within the Department of Information Technology.
