We regard gender equality and diversity as a strength and an asset.Description of the workplaceThe Department of Electrical and Information Technology (EIT) at Lund University, The Faculty of Engineering (LTH), is one of the larger departments with about 120 employees and conducts research and teaching mainly in electrical engineering and computer technology. We are located on LTH's campus in northern Lund.At the Division of Electromagnetics and Nanoelectronics within the Department, we develop and study new generations of electronics based on advanced semiconductor technology. In particular, we develop and characterize new generations of RF-electronics based on III-V technology to be used as amplifiers and switches. Part of the effort is related to characterization of advanced devices in 2D materials and graphene. Part of the work time will be in the office at Brunnshög close to the large international and national infrastructures Max IV och ESS.More on Max IV (maxiv.lu.se).More on ESS (ess.eu).We are now looking to hire a new colleague in the role of a postdoctoral position in Electrical Engineering with focus on Nanoelectronics and electrical characterization of cold source FET:s.Work dutiesThe main duties involved in a postdoctoral position is to conduct research. Teaching may also be included, but up to no more than 20% of working hours. The position includes the opportunity for three weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning. The purpose of the position is to develop the independence as a researcher and to create the opportunity of further development.You will have particular responsibility for DC and 1/f noise characterization of devices and circuits. In particular you will be working with cold source FET:s to be used as switches in future electronic technologies. The effort will be part of the EU-project AttoSwitch.More on AttoSwitch (attoswitch.eu).Detailed description of the work duties, such as:Device design and layout.DC- and 1/f noise characterization of devices.Data analysis and interpretation.Device modelling in collaboration with international partners.Teaching at undergraduate, advanced and postgraduate levels.Supervision of degree projects and doctoral students.Work on seeking external research funding.Collaboration with industry. Administration related to the work duties listed above.Qualification requirementsAppointment to a postdoctoral position requires that the applicant has a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within the subject of the position. The certificate proving the qualification requirement is met, must be received before the employment decision is made. Priority will be given to candidates who have graduated no more than three years ago before the last day for application. Under special circumstances, the doctoral degree can have been completed earlier.Additional requirements:Very good oral and written proficiency in English. Strong and documented ability to collaborate with doctoral- and master students or similar.Strong experience in III-V device and circuit RF characterization.Documented skills in circuit design.Experience in device characterization at millimeter wave frequences.Interest in circuit-device co-design strategies.Assessment criteriaThis is a career development position primarily focused on research. The position is intended as an initial step in a career, and the assessment of the applicants will primarily be based on their research qualifications and potential as researchers.
