🚀 Power BI & SQL Developer – London Market Insurance Hybrid - 3 days per week - ContractAbout the RoleWe're on the lookout for a skilled Power BI & SQL Developer with a strong background in London Market insurance. In this role, you’ll design and develop BI solutions that deliver meaningful insights to teams across underwriting, claims, actuarial, and finance. Your deep understanding of insurance data—particularly bordereaux, policy, and claims data in the Lloyd’s and London Market—is essential.What You’ll DoBuild and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and visual reportsWrite and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL workflowsTranslate business needs into technical BI solutions by working closely with stakeholdersModel and structure data for analytics aligned with London Market standardsIntegrate and reconcile data from multiple sources including bordereaux and third-party feedsEnsure data quality and compliance through validation and governance processesDeliver insights to support performance monitoring, profitability, and risk analysisMaintain and enhance existing BI solutions to improve scalability and efficiencySupport broader data initiatives including governance and documentationWhat We’re Looking ForTechnical SkillsExpertise in Power BI (DAX, Power Query) and building impactful dashboardsAdvanced SQL (T-SQL preferred) for managing and querying relational databasesExperience with ETL tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar)Strong data modelling skills (star/snowflake schema)Familiarity with Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, or other cloud platforms is a plusDomain KnowledgeSolid experience in the Lloyd’s / London Market insurance environmentStrong grasp of insurance data – policies, premiums, claims, and financeExperience with bordereaux processing and delegated authority dataAwareness of market regulations (e.g., Core Data Record, Solvency II)
