Position SummaryThe Power BI & Data Officer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards, reports, and robust data models that translate business requirements into insights for Jigsaw services. A key part of the role is working independently on the development and deployment of well-structured master datasets and high-quality reporting solutions that empower evidence-based decision-making. This includes documenting data structures, and maintaining dataflows to support accurate, consistent, and reliable outputs. Working closely with stakeholders, the officer will provide user-friendly reporting tools, first-level analytics support, and training to ensure staff can make effective use of data. The role also contributes to research and evaluation by enabling the use of service data for academic and organisational learning. Strong technical skills in Power BI, data modelling, and DAX, combined with analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, will be essential to deliver reporting solutions. Who We AreJigsaw is a mental health charity that provides free therapy and support services to children and young people (aged12-25) struggling with their mental health.We also help people and communities to better understand their mental health and better support those around them.For more information on Jigsaw, and the services and supports we provide, visit www.jigsaw.iePrimary ResponsibilitiesReport development and Data modelling   Translate business requirements into interactive, user-friendly Power BI dashboards and paginated reports  Support the development, maintenance and deployment of robust data models and master datasets, acting as the data steward for endorsed models   Document data structures and meta data (data dictionaries, entity relationship diagrams, dataflow diagrams)   Acquiring new data sources via APIs and data connectors   Governance and security   Monitor and report on governance of data assets   Apply row and object level security and security groups on data assets   Apply and enforce sensitivity labels and data protection policies on data assets   Administration and data quality   Maintain and enhance existing reports, ensuring data accuracy and usability  Monitor and validate data to ensure high data quality and consistency  Administration licence allocation, user access and permissions   Log, investigate, and resolve any performance or data issues  Training, support and user engagement   Work with stakeholders to document reporting requirements   Provide organisational training and induction   Provide first level analytics support   Supporting the use of Jigsaw's service data for research and evaluation purposes and contributing to academic publications  RequirementsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Essential Criteria:Undergraduate qualification or equivalent in a relevant field, including data analytics experience  Minimum of 1-year experience in a relevant area; e.g. data warehousing, business intelligence or other related technical area   Minimum of 1-year experience working with Power BI and creating complex DAX measures  Experience and/or knowledge of data modelling, ETL (extract, load transform) and databases   Strong analytical, creative and problem-solving skills   Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks and deliver to deadlines  Collaborative workstyle, excellent communications skills, and the ability to translate complex concepts into measurable indicators   Demonstrate initiative and creativity in approach to problems and tasks   Passionate about young people, their mental health, and achieving change in Irish society  Desirable Criteria:Experience working with healthcare information systems/clinical data management or similar industry equivalent   Experience with Power Query (M language)   Knowledge of and experience with databases (SQL etc.), programming (e.g. JavaScript, Python) and APIs (Application Programming Interfaces)  Knowledge of data protection principles and legislation   Experience of working with young people (in a research context) and in particular of involving young people in research  BenefitsSalary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Factors taken into account in determining an appropriate scale include the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the job.The salary range for this role will be €34,762 to €49,298Jigsaw operates the following benefits for its employees:Defined contribution pension scheme with 10% employer and 5% employee contributions Annual leave 25 days, exclusive of public holidays and 1.5 company days.
