Power BI Developer

Job Title: Power BI DeveloperLocation: Perth, WA (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)Contract Duration: 6 Months (with potential extension)Experience Required: minimum 6+ yearsStart Date: Immediate / As soon as possibleAbout the Role:We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to join our team on a 6-month hybrid contract based in Perth. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data visualization, dashboard development, data modeling, and business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.Work closely with stakeholders to gather and define reporting requirements and KPIs.Create efficient data models, DAX calculations, and optimized queries.Integrate data from multiple sources including SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, and cloud platforms.Ensure data accuracy, performance optimization, and visual consistency across reports.Implement row-level security (RLS) and manage Power BI service workspaces and deployments.Support data governance, documentation, and best practices in BI development.Collaborate with IT and business teams to deliver end-to-end BI solutions.Required Skills & Experience:6+ years of professional experience in Power BI development and data visualization.Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling.Solid understanding of SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL).Experience integrating data from multiple sources (on-prem and cloud).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Experience in performance tuning of Power BI reports and dashboards.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Exposure to Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake) is a plus.
