The organization aims to strengthen its business intelligence capabilities by maintaining and enhancing a robust, enterprise-grade reporting and analytics environment.Position overviewWe are seeking an experienced Power BI Engineer to develop, maintain, and optimize comprehensive reporting solutions that deliver actionable insights across the organization. This role serves as the primary liaison between complex data infrastructure and end-user analytics requirements, ensuring Power BI operates as a mission-critical analytics tool on par with enterprise platforms like Tableau.Technology stackMicrosoft Power BI (Desktop and Service), SQL databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL), Data transformation with Power Query and DAXResponsibilitiesDesign and develop enterprise-level Power BI reports and interactive dashboards tailored to diverse business needsCreate visually compelling, user-friendly analytics experiences that help drive insights and decision-makingImplement advanced visualizations and custom visual components to enhance report usabilityDevelop drill-through capabilities, bookmarks, and intuitive navigation structuresBuild role-based dashboards customized for specific business units and user personas to ensure relevant data deliveryMonitor, analyze, and optimize Power BI report performance and query execution timesApply best practices for data model efficiency, including DirectQuery optimizationsTroubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks in reports and dashboardsCollaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and improve analytics workflowsRequirementsProven experience designing and deploying complex Power BI reports and dashboards at enterprise scaleStrong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power Query (M), and DAX formula languageSolid understanding of data warehousing concepts, SQL querying, and ETL processesExperience with performance tuning Power BI models and reports, including DirectQuery and Import modesFamiliarity with security role configurations and row-level security (RLS) in Power BIAbility to translate business requirements into effective data visualizations and reportsExcellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders and technical teamsNice to haveExperience with other BI/analytics platforms such as Tableau or QlikKnowledge of Azure cloud services and data platform offeringsUnderstanding of Agile methodology and DevOps practices for BI development
