⚡ Electrical Power Systems Engineer – Telecommunications Infrastructure📍 Location: Midrand, South Africa💰 Rate: R336.86 per hour📅 Contract Duration: 12 MonthsAbout the RoleWe’re seeking an experienced Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our telecommunications infrastructure team. This role is responsible for the review, implementation, and advisory of electrical power systems — with a focus on colocation sites and future technology deployments or upgrades for our customers.You’ll ensure full compliance with SANS 10142-1, apply risk-based engineering principles, and deliver reliable, safe, and cost-effective power upgrades to support network expansion and multi-operator sharing.You will be accountable for the review, approval, and design of power solutions that enable our customers’ network growth and sustainability.Key AccountabilitiesPower Applications & ReviewReview, validate, and provide consent for all co-location power application requests at Vodacom/Mast sites.Evaluate requests for technical and contractual feasibility, considering load capacity, redundancy, and commercial contracts.Conduct site condition analyses to identify risks or constraints impacting co-location or expansion.Provide well-documented approvals with clear technical rationales, ensuring timely communication with key stakeholders.Risk-Based Engineering & Compliance AuditApply risk-based engineering principles to all new power installations and upgrade projects.Identify, assess, and mitigate risks before implementation.Ensure all power system activities comply with SANS 10142-1, safety standards, and operational requirements.RequirementsDegree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).Proven experience in telecommunications power systems or related infrastructure.Strong working knowledge of SANS 10142-1.Experience in risk assessment and compliance-based engineering.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Why Join UsJoin a dynamic environment where you’ll help drive network innovation and reliability across South Africa’s telecommunications landscape.
