Qualifications Baccalaureate Degree in health related field or Human Services Other combinations of education and experience may be considered Three (3) years experience within the last five (5) years working in a health/social services environment Two (2) years supervisor experience in a health care setting Two (2) years experience in community development Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within the Prairie Mountain Health Knowledge and experience related to aging and individuals living with disabilities Knowledge and experience of current Health Promotion theory and practice Knowledge and experience with population health and community development principles and strategies Flexibility, adaptability, creativity, respect for diverse opinions and experiences Demonstrated leadership and managerial ability Demonstrated written and oral communication skills Demonstrated experience in employee and labour relations Demonstrated experience in initiating changes and improvements, including skills in workplace re-engineering within a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) environment Ability to prioritize in a changing environment Sensitivity to the human and political dynamics of health care management Strong organizational, decision making and problem solving skills Demonstrated ability to develop Policy & Procedures Ability to display independent judgment Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population Ability to respect and promote confidentiality Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basisPosition SummaryThe Supervisor Services to Seniors shall be accountable to the Director Home Care/Services to Seniors and is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, evaluation and operation of Services to Seniors Programs within Prairie Mountain Health.
This includes the recruitment, orientation, scheduling, supervision and evaluation of the Tennant and Community Support Workers. In consultation with the Home Care management team, works in identification of human resource needs of the Services to Seniors Programs and implements measures for recruitment and retention of staffing within the Services to Seniors Programs. Utilizing the Aging in Place and Continuing Care frameworks, the Supervisor Services to Seniors works in partnerships to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate seniors programs such as Support Services to Seniors, Specialized Support Programs, Specialized Supports in Group Living (SSGL) and Supportive Housing. ResponsibilitiesOverview:
Responsible to ensure that the required standards of practice are maintained and that services to seniors programs are delivered in accordance with legislated or Accreditation standards, collective agreement provisions, and any provincial, regional or program requirements. Responsible for the safe administration and operation of Services to Seniors Programs throughout Prairie Mountain Health. Monitors appropriate financial, human resources, equipment and environmental issues of Services to Senior Programs within Prairie Mountain Health. Oversees the development of policies and procedures related to Services to Seniors Programs. Instrumental in the planning and development of sustainable programs. Participates in portfolio/facility/regional team structure.
Develops and maintains functional relationships with other departments/programs. Plans for continued professional development of staff and self. Promotes positive public relations. Operationalizes Prairie Mountain Health’s Vision, Mission and Values statements. Promotes the quality dimensions of access, safety, effectiveness and satisfaction in the provision of Prairie Mountain Health’s services. Recruits, orientates, schedules, supervises and evaluates the Tennant and Community Support Workers.
