The Facultative and London market reinsurance products are supported by the capacity and security of Ascot’s leading Lloyd’s syndicate, coupled with local expertise. Our Bermuda reinsurance products are written on “A” rated paper.We are seeking a Specialty Treaty Actuary/Modeler to join the Bermuda Specialty Reinsurance team. This role will be responsible for pricing and managing a diverse portfolio of specialty reinsurance, including Cyber, Credit, Mortgage, Surety, and Crisis Management. This highly technical individual will work collaboratively with underwriters, exposure management, claims, and analytics colleagues to deliver best-in-class solutions.Key Duties And Responsibilities Evaluate and price treaty business, deploying your technical expertise to support underwriters in structuring and pricing complex risk transfer solutions. Develop, refine, and maintain pricing models for a range of specialty treaty products—leveraging both client data and broader market insights. Utilize actuarial methods and pricing models to quantify risk, validate assumptions, and provide clear, actionable recommendations to stakeholders. Collaborate with exposure management and data teams regarding portfolio insights, model validation, and development of MI Support business planning, capital modelling, and strategic portfolio steering through insightful analysis and reporting. Continuously evaluate and incorporate developments in model improvements, actuarial methodologies, and regulatory requirements into Ascot’s view of risk, assumptions and pricing approach. Minimum Skills and Experience Required Qualified actuary (ACAS, FCAS, ASA FSA, AIA, FIA or equivalent), quantitative specialist, or experienced catastrophe modeler with a strong background in (re)insurance pricing or risk analysis. Experience with vendor catastrophe models and actuarial pricing tools and methodologies relevant to specialty treaty business. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to communicate technical concepts to both specialists and non-technical stakeholders. High level of proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, R, or similar analytical tools. Collaborative mindset, keen to work across disciplines and support the Specialty Treaty team’s market leading position. A self-starter with commercial acumen, intellectual curiosity, and motivation to drive best practices and innovation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence to represent the team in client and market-facing situations. An intrinsic drive to continually improve processes and product lines, develop innovative solutions, support business growth and work in a fast-paced, collaborative and dynamic environment.
