We are looking for dynamic people to join our team.Purpose of Role: The Receptionist is the first point of contact at a SPARK Primary School, responsible for ensuring a warm, welcoming, and professional front office environment for scholars, parents, visitors, and staff. The Receptionist plays a key role in maintaining strong family-school relationships through effective communication, efficient administration, and compassionate scholar care.Reports To: School Operations CoordinatorRequirementsResponsibilities:Front Office & Visitor ManagementGreet and welcome all scholars, families, visitors, and stakeholders with professionalism and warmthManage visitor sign-ins and ensure adherence to school safety and security protocolsAnswer all incoming calls and emails and direct queries to the relevant staff member in a timely mannerMaintain a tidy and professional reception area that reflects SPARK Schools' culture and valuesProvide school tours to prospective parents and serve as a liaison during the enrolment process, including collecting personal documentation for enrolment filesParent Communication & SupportField parent queries regarding enrolment processes, documentation, and status updatesRespond to and assist with queries related to school fees, including payment channels, due dates, and account referencesSchedule and coordinate parent-teacher meetings or appointments upon requestProvide information about school events, term dates, and school policiesScholar Support & Sick Bay OversightMonitor and care for scholars in the sick bay, following school health protocolsMaintain accurate records of scholar incidents, illnesses, or injuries, and report to the School Operations Coordinator and relevant staffCommunicate with parents regarding scholar health incidents or early dismissalsAdministrative & Operational SupportMaintain front office records, including attendance and scholar sign-in/out logsDistribute school notices, letters, and report cards as requiredAssist with procurement, stock-taking, and inventory of office and first-aid suppliesReceive and distribute school deliveries and mailProvide general clerical support (filing, printing, photocopying) to school leadership and staffServe as the liaison for parents seeking enrollment or financial assistance by providing access to school telephones and offering support as neededEvent & Logistics CoordinationSupport logistics and communication for school events, parent orientations, and open daysProvide on-the-ground support during major school functions and help coordinate guest check-insQualifications:The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:National Senior Certificate (Matric) - RequiredCertificate or diploma in Office Administration or related field - AdvantageousExperience:1-2 years' experience in a receptionist, administrative, or customer service roleExperience in a school or educational environment is highly advantageousSkills and mindset:Managing tasksCustomer orientationAnalysis/ problem solvingQuick thinking/learningTeam workCommunicationQualities:Grit: Persistence through challengesExcellence: A track record of high expectations personally and professionallyMission and Vision Alignment: Understanding of and passion for the SPARK Schools mission to provide excellent education at an affordable costSelf Reflection: Finding the capacity to bring your best self to challenges and opportunitiesValues: Service, Persistence, Achievement, Responsibility, KindnessBenefitsSPARK offers:fair market linked remunerationperformance-based annual bonuses and increasesabove average/good annual leavelife, disability and funeral coveremployee wellness supporteducational support & study leaveindividualised professional development, support and mentorshipemployee discount on school feesopportunities for career growthCompensation: R10,000.00 p/m CTCPosition Type: PermanentLocation: Johannesburg RegionSPARK Turffontein SPARK schools is an equal opportunities employer and preference will be given to candidates from designated groups with due consideration of the company's Employment Equity goals and targets.SPARK Schools Encourages Persons With Disabilities To Apply.SPARK Schools may expire the posting of this advertisement at their own discretion.Kindly note that should you have not heard from us within two weeks of the closing date please consider your application unsuccessful.
