DETAILS AND COMPETENCIESJob ObjectiveProject management of the technical development of either one or several hydropower or dam projects of the Company. The scope of such technical project management may encompass any of the development steps to develop projects technically from the evaluation of an initial Business Plan from a technical perspective to the handover of a shovel ready project to the project delivery teamsSpecific Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate the project engineering team for the technical development of hydropower projects in accordance with the Execution Strategy.

Preparation of Execution Strategies for the development of project opportunities to meet the Business Plan of Business Development in terms of: Intended revenue streamsProduct description and delivery profileDelivery TargetsBudgets. Such an Execution Strategy shall consist of:

Overall schedule to execution and commercial operationPreliminary contracting strategy for executionDefinition of performance requirements of the projectGap analysis between any existing studies or data and requirements of the Execution StrategyIdentification of required studies and site investigationsProvide the necessary support to Business Development on resolving engineering issues to ensure compliance with the Business PlanInterfacing and coordinating with the other Units (Legal, Regulatory, CSR, Supply Chain, Business Development, IT, HSE, etc) for development of the projects from a technical perspective and in accordance with the Execution Strategy.

Analyze project-specific risks and opportunities; develop a risk management plan coordinating development, project execution strategy, contracting/commercial strategy and project insurance optionsEnsure that identified risks are actively being considered or mitigated throughout the development of the projectsPreparation of Terms of Reference for consultants and contractors for Due Diligences, Feasibility Studies, Site investigations, EPC Tender Documents etc. With the support of Corporate Business Support, prepare procurement documents, draft contracts and manage the procurement process and award.

Contract Management, with the support of Corporate Business Support, of consultancy and site investigation contracts acting as Owner’s Representative, operate as the project’s single point of contact for all technical and commercial communications. Manage the payment progress and milestone of the consultant/contractor, and validate the billing invoices submitted based on actual progress or submittal review.

Negotiate variation orders as required, managing scope, technical issues and commercial commitmentsEnsure the completeness and the correctness of all the technical documentation and deliverables to be prepared by consultants and contractorsContinuously monitoring the deliverables of the project development against specific project constraints as well as requirements set out in the Execution Strategy to ensure that delivery is focused on the business planEvaluate progress of consultants and contractors with an eye toward managing project risks and exploiting project opportunities and prepare weekly updates for management.

Track project key performance indicators (schedule, cost, quality, scope) and provide inputs/corrective action to ensure progress is according to planPrepare project status reports for communicating with team members and other project stakeholders, whether they are internal (at all organizational levels) or external to the organizationManagement of tendering of works contracts.

Support the broader Project Team and the Management in evaluation EPC tender submittalsSupport the other units within the Organization for the management supply, construction and commissioning contracts entered with external service providers related to own field of expertiseProvide engineering support for hydropower specific engineering issues and value engineering opportunities based on the project-specific risk profileCollects and implements the lessons learned continuously in the projects, sharing the best practices and knowledge with the other units of the Organization. PART THREE:

POSITION REQUIREMENTSBasic QualificationsOverall relevant experience of at least 10 years in IPPs/Utilities/EPCs/Consulting firms related to energy sectorMinimum of Master’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering, project management, construction management, or related field requiredOverseas experience of significant benefitValid (Project Management) training or certification issued by any Project Management Institution or Certifying BodiesMinimum of 5 years’ experience managing development and/or construction of hydropower or dam projectsHands-on experience in handling all stages of Engineering Design & technical issues related to hydropower plants and main equipmentKnowledge and skills of overall Construction, Commissioning, Project Management, Risk Management & Contract Management of Hydro Power Plants of an advantageDemonstrated excellence in effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the necessary skills to interface with local representatives, clients, vendors, contractors and subcontractors and other project stakeholdersGood understanding of budgets and design for cost solutionsDemonstrated project financial understanding (such as the development of construction budgets, interpreting and understanding financial reports, financial evaluations, etc.
