Job Description

In the role of Principal Advisor (Regulatory Compliance Trainer) you will manage the delivery of the compliance training program for Maritime Safety Queensland employees performing regulatory compliance roles to ensure officers have the necessary expertise and experience to perform the duties under relevant legislation as an Appointed Officer.Some Of Your Responsibilities Will Include Design, develop and deliver compliance training modules, the development of on-the-job training workbooks to embed learning for participants from the Certificate IV Government Investigations Course and ensure legislative obligations under the Transport Operations (Marine Safety) Act 1994 (TOMSA)Transport Operations (Marine Pollution) Act 1995 (TOMPA) and Transport Infrastructure Act 1994 are met. Conduct comprehensive research and manage reviews of the Compliance Competency Framework to ensure best practice, address MSQ business needs and meet legislative requirements. Manage scheduling of external course sessions, including developing and maintaining effective relationships with other government agencies such as Queensland Police Service and registered training organisations to ensure timely and successful delivery of modules of the compliance training program. Facilitate course sessions and provide coaching, mentoring and specialist expertise to participants outside of course sessions. Develop training and progress plans and monitor, evaluate and review performance of participants. Liaise with operational managers to develop performance improvement plans for appointed officers that need further training or exposure to compliance activities not available in their home location.
