Join the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB) as a Principal Advisor, where you will deliver excellence in customer service and work with talented people to make a difference and shape Queensland’s future.This role provides an exciting opportunity for a valuable team member to join the Human Resources team in providing expert advice and assistance across the department on all workplace relations matters.The HR team delivers its services through a collaborative structure, including business aligned Business Partner teams and specialised teams focused on Workplace Relations, Safety and Ethical Standards, Executive and Talent, Policy and Programs, Workforce Strategy, Workforce Insights and HR Systems. These teams are further supported by the hrAssist team, which provides centralised support to the HR team and is the first point of contact for many HR-related queries.The Workplace Relations and Ethical Standards team provides strategic, tactical and operational industrial and employee relations and ethical standards services and advice, the development of workforce policy and the development of frameworks and standards for the management of complex matters including, but not limited to, performance and conduct issues.As the Principal Advisor, Workplace Relations and Ethical Standards, you willProvide expert advice and guidance to managers, employees and stakeholders on workplace relations matters, including employee and industrial relations and ethical standards.Manage complex workplace relations matters such as industrial disputes, enterprise bargaining processes, grievances, performance and conduct matters, discipline, appeals, rehabilitation, and mental and physical capacity, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards and agreements. Ensure legislative and statutory compliance by providing authoritative advice on ethics frameworks, including corrupt conduct and conflicts of interest.Contribute to the review, implementation and maintenance of contemporary workforce policies, frameworks and initiatives related to the workplace relations functions that are strategically aligned to departmental objectives and complies with relevant legislative and employment frameworks.Mentor and build capability within human resources by enhancing understanding and application of public sector legislative and policy frameworks relating to the department's ethics and employment framework and the effective management of performance and conduct matters.The Position Requires An Applicant Who CanThorough knowledge and experience in at least one workplace relations function - employee relations, industrial relations or ethical standards - with particular expertise in relation to Queensland public sector legislative and policy frameworks.Excellent communication and relationship management skills with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.Proven ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively when resolving workplace relations issues.Proven ability to interpret and implement Queensland legislation relating to the workplace relations functions.Refer to the Role Description for a full list of responsibilities and what we are looking for.Join our team - deliver excellence in customer service, make a difference and shape the future of Queensland.
