Join our mission to build a modern data platform from the ground up – one that is scalable, modular, and seamlessly integrates with other systems to empower fast, reliable, and impactful business insights.As a Principal Data Platform Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of our data warehouse and analytical infrastructure. Your role will be central to creating new capabilities, developing key features, and rethinking existing processes to help transform ILTE into a truly data-driven organization.Main ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop the data platform, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and security.Build and maintain the platform’s components, including data-processing orchestration, monitoring, CI/CD pipelines, and metadata systems.Enable machine learning and AI solutions by developing infrastructure for feature stores, model management, and real-time data processing.Develop hybrid infrastructure (cloud and on-prem) to avoid vendor lock-in and ensure flexibility.Build and maintain APIs for secure and efficient data exchange with other systems.Shape the platform strategy and promote its adoption across the organization through tools, documentation, and internal communication.Share best data engineering practices, ensuring engineers use optimal tools and approaches.Evaluate and implement new technologies, defining the long-term technological direction of the platform.Ensure operational efficiency, including cost optimization, performance monitoring, and incident response.We Expect You To HaveAt least 7 years of experience in data engineering, platform development, or infrastructure solutions.Strong technical knowledge of data infrastructure, including cloud services (AWS and/or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT systems, data pipelines, and orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.Ability to design hybrid data-warehouse architectures combining cloud and on-prem environments while preventing vendor lock-in.Experience building APIs for secure and high-performance data exchange (REST, GraphQL, or gRPC).Practical understanding of machine-learning infrastructure: feature stores, ML pipelines, and real-time processing.Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to mentor colleagues, make architectural decisions, and facilitate collaboration across teams.Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and incident-management solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).Ability to quickly assess and adopt new technologies and make long-term architectural choices.We OfferA unique opportunity for professional growth in Lithuania’s only national development bank, investing in projects that create long-term value for the country and offering the broadest range of financial instruments for such initiatives.The chance to contribute to the public good while working with highly experienced and knowledgeable professionals.A comprehensive benefits package (health insurance, accident insurance, additional vacation days, flexible working conditions, and the possibility to work remotely not only in Lithuania but also abroad, among others).SalaryMonthly salary: €5,300–€6,400 gross, depending on your experience and competencies.Employees may receive a variable pay component in accordance with ILTE’s compensation and performance evaluation policies.
