Principal Designer

Location: Zurich, Switzerland (Relocation Required if not already based there) Market Focus: DACH Region The Opportunity: High-stakes, high-visibility role in a world-class, confidential design firm.We are conducting a search for a Principal Designer to drive the creative force responsible for winning major corporate projects in the dynamic DACH market.This is a critical, dual-focus leadership role, balancing exceptional design expertise with proven business acumen. The successful candidate will operate as both the creative Pitch Lead and the strategic Design Strategist, directly engaging with and convincing C-level clients to secure new business and project acquisition.This is a rare, high-impact role requiring a 50% Technical Design and 50% Business Development/Sales mix.Key Responsibilities & Requirements (Non-Negotiable)Experience & Focus:Proven Experience in Workplace Interiors (5-10+ years minimum), commensurate with a Principal title. Candidates with only residential or hospitality experience will not be considered.Expert Proficiency in Revit. You must be an expert user in the workflow of a modern workplace interior design practice.Strong Pitching & Business Development Experience: A demonstrated, proven ability to lead client-facing engagements, present concepts confidently to C-level executives, and successfully win large-scale corporate projects.Language & Location:English and German Fluency (ESSENTIAL). These are mandatory language requirements for operating effectively in the Zurich/DACH market.Willingness to relocate to Zurich if not currently based in the city.Nice-to-Haves (Bonus Attributes):A strong understanding of design regulations and local codes in the DACH region.Experience leading large project teams and managing complex commissions.Fluency in French is a major plus.This is an essential, high-impact role critical to our client's continued growth and profitability in the European market.
