Find out more about working with us .Your ResponsibilitiesAs the Principal Education Officer, Students in Care, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Providing strategic advice to assist in planning for the use of resources to facilitate the equitable delivery of services to Students in Care across the region based on a state-wide service delivery model which is consistent with the department's framework.Providing specialist operational advice to schools, regional staff and senior officers on the delivery of the Students in Care program including the distribution of resources and the development of monitoring mechanisms to support the Students in Care program.Contribute to regional planning and goal setting by providing high-level and timely advice to senior officers on implementing inclusive and equitable schooling practices for Students in Care.Providing leadership in the implementation, maintenance and review of operational policies, standards, procedures, programs, including the preparation of reports, submissions, briefs, and correspondence relating to sensitive issues across the region.Developing and maintaining strategic and innovative partnerships across government, with school communities, and community organisations to ensure all Students in Care achieve quality educational outcomes and partnership initiatives are inclusive of the needs and aspirations of these students.Promoting and monitoring programs and practices that effectively meet the needs of Students in Care, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, students with learning difficulties, students with disability, poor mental health and those who are geographically isolated.Developing a coherent approach to the implementation of school-based services that promote student wellbeing and engagement in collaboration with relevant departmental officers, statutory authorities and other relevant stakeholders.Managing, monitoring and reporting on the regional Education Support Funding Program (ESFP) budget.Maintaining data sets and providing data analysis reports to inform practice in the region.Oversee and manage regional Education Support Funding Programs, by monitoring completion rates, school disciplinary absences and exemptions for Students in Care; and representing the department at regional interagency meetings.Other Responsibilities (as Required)Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegatePlease refer to the attached role description for the full list of responsibilities and mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
