Samsung C&T has long been active in the green energy business and continues to explore additional innovative renewable energy solutions.We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer for BESS Project in Sydney, New South Wales.About the RoleDesign, control, and implement electrical systems and productsPerform detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational standards, specifications, and designs for electrical systems or componentsAnalyse electrical system requirements, capacity, cost, and project needsCreate and maintain product documentation, including product reports and design specificationsAnalyse and interpret technical drawings and engineering specificationsManage engineering projects and deliver them on timeEnsuring that products meet relevant safety standards and engineering codeTechnical bid evaluation for electrical equipmentExamine needs on new equipment, calculate costs and help prepare budgetCollaborate with other members of the engineering team to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budgetAttend, host or coordinate technical meetingsDefine customer needs and requirementsProvide engineering information by answering questions and requestsAbout YouTertiary qualification in Engineering or a recognized engineering qualification. Additional certificate in design in desirableExperience 5+ years detailed design/engineering experience in 132kV and above Substation & Transmission Lines in AustraliaExperience in Renewable PV Solar Farm and/or large-scale Battery Storage projects (minimum 100MW)Experience in AutoCAD or other software key to the discipline of expertiseStrong knowledge of Australian Standards, NER, AEMO, and NSP regulationsProficiency in HV substation design and Transmission LinesExperience with review and modification works for schematic diagrams which shall be provided in SubstationGood understanding of PV and BESS system design, integration, HV & LV AC & DC sideAbility to develop detailed electrical drawings, calculation, specifications, technical proposals & reportsExperience with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, DigSilent)Understanding of power system analysis (load flow, short circuit, protection)Experience in an EPC environment managing project design scope, schedule, and budgetStrong ability to liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodiesExperience in design review, verification, and assessment of renewable projectsAbility to troubleshoot complex electrical issuesExperience with design consultant SoW draftingExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsUnderstanding of Grid Connection ProcessSamsung C&T Corporation is committed to building diverse and inclusive teams.
