Job DescriptionJob Overview:The Principal HSES Specialist is tasked with solving complex HSES-related problems and will work independently with minimal guidance. They may be responsible for leading functional teams or projects and are regarded as a specialist in the field of HSES. As such, they must have in-depth expertise in HSES and broad knowledge of the HSES discipline within the Health Safety Environment Security function.ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks and Responsibilities:Develop, lead implementation, and ensure HSE Management System (HSE-MS) is in line with corporate, legislative, and client requirementsDevelop an integrated approach to HSES Risk Management processParticipate and provide inputs as required and ensure mitigating controls remain suitable and sufficientDevelop and implement HSES plans, procedures, and instructions as required by Contract and in line with corporate and legislative requirementsManage, monitor, and advise on all matters related to HSESProvide technical and commercial support during tendering stageEstablish tangible and relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to the area of responsibility, monitor compliance, and identify trendsPlanning and execution of the internal and external HSES Audits and compliance assurance programsComplete subcontractor/vendor HSES pre-qualification and bid evaluation processFollow-up closeout and maintain HSES actionsPrepare HSES budget and ensure complianceEngage in professional development to lead HSES changes in technology and systemsSupervise HSES personnel to support their professional development through competency assurance programsLead Incident Investigations and Root Cause AnalysisProactive client interfaceGuide the production of HSES information, training, education, and awareness material for the Project and business lineDevelop and maintain Emergency ProceduresMaintain a high standard of safe working practice, quality, and productivity, and ensure compliance with the code of business conduct Coordinate Project HSES activitiesConduct business travel as necessary to support project/operations requirementsCommunicate with and advise management on issues and concerns relating to projects and site operations requiring HSE support and guidanceCommunicate, present, or justify overall HSE performance to management as necessaryQualificationsEssential Qualifications and Education:Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in HSES related field7-8 years of HSE Experience within the Energy Industry NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Familiarity with company, facility, and project-specific HSES terms, requirements, and deliverablesMaintain key competencies associated with the HSES function Trained and experienced ISO standards lead auditor (9001, 14001, or 45001)Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Sharepoint) and other relevant online applications Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbalAbout UsOur ingenuity fuels daily life.
