Role PurposeTo act as a Compliance Officer and excecutive link between the Sponsor, Board of Trustees, Members, the Regulator and participating Employers, through the operational execution of the Metropolitan sponsored fund activitiesRequirementsBCom Law; or LLB.A PGDip in Financial Planning or Pension Law will be an added advantage. ORA Certificate in Pension Fund Regulatory with 5 years’ experience in retirement fund industry specially in consulting or product development experience. Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo manage fund governance and risk management plan in which the functions and duties of the Board of Trustees are recorded and monitored. To ensure development of the rules and prospectus of the fund and guarantee their dissemination to members and prospective members. To provide advice to the trustees on policies and procedures. To ensure that investment contributions received from employers are invested not later than the first business day following the day on which the fund received the contribution according to the fund’s investment policy. To ensure that financial statements of the funds are prepared and audited annually. To ensure that the amounts remitted by employers reconcile with the schedule of contributions expected from the employers. To timeously process member contributions remitted by the employers, prepare and maintain a schedule illustrative of the remittances. To effect lawful deduction from members’ contributions in accordance with section 33 of the Pension Fund Act. To establish and maintain an annual calendar for Board of Trustees meetings and monitor implementation thereof. To attend all meetings of the Board of Trustees and perform secretarial functions that enable the Board of Trustees to perform their duties and provide them with adequate resources. To ensure that the Board of Trustees make decisions that are in unison with the national regulatory framework and fund rules. To execute instructions of the Board of Trustees. To ensure that the operations of the funds are in tandem with the objectives, fund rules and national regulatory framework. To oversee the distribution of the members’ periodic communication and annual benefit statements and or retirement benefit book.
