Job Description

The SES Strategy and Planning Directorate is responsible for delivering long-term strategies and short-term plans that align with SES objectives, while maintaining governance systems that support transparent and informed decision-making. Its key responsibilities include strategic, business and capability planning; risk and business continuity management; innovation and project oversight; lessons management; corporate governance and reporting; and fostering strategic partnerships.Please refer to role profile for full details.Your Key AccountabilitiesThe core capability requirements for this role are:Identify and evaluate opportunities to enhance SES business improvement.Provide strategic direction in the planning, delivery and support of business services, programs and projects, including resource deployment, policy alignment, change management, communications and stakeholder engagement.Provide expert advice, support and guidance to leadership teams, stakeholder groups and program and project teams in support of deliverables.Lead and manage assigned program and project activities using contemporary program and project management and related frameworks, methodologies, and policies.Provide guidance to stakeholders that facilitates informed business decisions, improves business processes and meets changing business needs.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with members of the SES and partner agencies to deliver initiatives in accordance with prioritised business objectives.Monitor and evaluate the progress of work deliverables, initiatives and business support priorities.Develop and implement change management and communications initiatives that complement business improvements.OtherRole RequirementsIt is expected the incumbent will participate in an out-of-hours on-call roster during emergency operations.This may require work outside of normal hours (e.g. night shift), including weekends, working extended hours and may include travel to rural and remote communities, intrastate or interstate travel as necessary and/or deployment activities to other parts of the state.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Occupational group Administration
