Job DescriptionOracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is building the future of MultiCloud . This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you’ll influence the architecture and strategy of OCI’s MultiCloud platform and help shape how enterprises consume cloud at global scale.This role is expected to provide technical leadership across several problem domains within our Dublin engineering site, consisting of ~50 engineers working on the next generation of MultiCloud services. From day one, we expect senior engineers to go beyond solving technical problems: to drive efficiencies in process and communication, reduce friction, and align teams across the wider MultiCloud organization .If you are someone who enjoys tackling the hardest problems in distributed systems — the ones others avoid — this role is for you.Why Join Us? What You’ll Do Design & Build: Architect and implement core components of the OCI MultiCloud platform. Solve Hard Problems: Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize complex distributed systems under real-world pressure. Lead Across Domains: Provide cross-team technical leadership and guidance across the Dublin engineering site. Drive Alignment: Improve processes, communication, and collaboration to accelerate delivery and reduce friction across the wider MultiCloud organization. Mentor & Influence: Grow other engineers, drive technical excellence, and raise the bar for the organization . Scale for the Future: Deliver solutions that are simple, scalable, and built to last. Partner & Deliver: Work across Oracle and with cloud partners to ensure seamless MultiCloud integration. What We’re Looking For 12+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems (or equivalent impact ). Deep technical expertise in cloud platforms, networking, virtualization, and databases . Strong coding skills in Java , plus familiarity with Python or other scripting languages. Proven ability to dive deep across the stack — from networking protocols and OS internals to distributed persistence and APIs. Experience designing multi-tenant, highly available systems in production environments. Track record of continuous growth in impact — solving increasingly complex, high-scale problems and expanding influence across teams and organizations (not just years of experience) . Proven record of cutting through ambiguity, solving complex problems quickly , and delivering clarity in high-pressure environments. High-energy, proactive problem solver who drives progress and thrives where others hesitate . Ability to influence not just technology but also process and communication — aligning teams and driving efficiencies across a global MultiCloud organization. Collaborative leadership style: you mentor , influence, and provide technical leadership across multiple teams. Nice to Have Prior experience in MultiCloud or cloud-to-cloud integration. Expertise in distributed storage, consistency models, or consensus protocols. Hands-on experience with performance tuning and low-level debugging . Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications.
