The principal engineer will work closely with the Product Owner and other business stakeholders in order refine scalable, secure and maintainable solutions that meet business needs. The principal engineer will be a product champion who leads the technical teams, is accountable for overall team performance, and fosters a positive culture in everyday engineering activities.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a product advocate in all areas of the business, and with customer championsFacilitate architectural design decisions within the relevant product landscapeBe accountable for keeping the product up-to-date with latest market trends; including security, privacy and regulatory standardsOversee product design sessions ensuring that engineering solutions are scalable and maintainableCollaborate with business stakeholders in order to engineer product solutions that meet business needs Lead, coach and mentor technical team membersFoster a high-performance culture within the teamEnsure that cloud native and engineering best practices are adhered to within the teamDrive CI/CD practices within the organisationMaintain operation visibility and performance of the product infrastructureChampion an agile/iterative development approachDrive and optimise cost effective solutionsConstantly promote a positive attitude to the whole company and its customersGood communication and writing skillsSkills, Knowledge And ExperienceExtensive experience in developing scalable web application in Ruby on RailsDetailed understanding of cloud infrastructure technologies (Azure / AWS) In depth knowledge of containerisation technologiesFirm understanding of database technologies; PostgreSQLComprehensive understanding of secure by design principlesSignificant experience in building scalable and performant RESTful APIsGood understanding of:C#HTML5/CSS3 JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Ember, Angular etc.) Linux / OS-X command line Skills & QualitiesThe ability to build and maintain strong and trusted relationships with both your team and key stakeholdersThe ability to influence and motivate stakeholders and team members to achieve objectivesThe ability to offer technical guidance to team members and key stakeholders in order to deliver optimal product solutionsThe ability to adapt to change in any periods of change/disruptionMust have a pro-active, positive, open and collaborative approach to working with others in a teamMust be open to learning new skills and self-development to drive both personal and team growthMust be comfortable in giving feedback at all levels with integrity as well as receiving it to build trust Company InfoYou may also have seen from our recent posts that we are excited to begin sharing our new company name – Klipboard.
