Principal Tailings Engineer EOR / Deputy

This is a senior technical leadership position with a respected consultancy known for its integrity, quality, and practical, field-focused approach to engineering.You'll take ownership of key tailings and dam engineering projects throughout Chile and Latin America - guiding multidisciplinary teams, mentoring emerging engineers, and building trusted partnerships with clients who rely on your expertise. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives on solving complex geotechnical and water management challenges. What You'll Be Doing:Leading the design, review, and stewardship of tailings storage facilities from concept to closure.Acting as Engineer of Record, ensuring designs meet technical, regulatory, and safety requirements.Providing expert oversight of geotechnical analyses, stability assessments, and risk evaluations.Building strong client relationships based on transparency, trust, and technical integrity.Supporting project teams through mentorship, peer review, and collaboration across regions.What You Bring:15+ years of experience in tailings and dam engineering.Proven track record as Engineer of Record on complex mining projects.Advanced knowledge of geotechnical design, seepage, and stability analysis.Familiarity with Chilean and international regulations for tailings facilities.Excellent communication and leadership skills; bilingual (Spanish/English) .A reputation for integrity, technical depth, and sound engineering judgment.
