We’re looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world.Organization OverviewThe TSMS function provides technical expertise and support to Dry Product Operations (DPO) ensuring compliance with cGMP, regulations, company standards and business practices. The primary areas of support include technical expertise for process manufacturing and business process improvements, compliance with business systems, new product introduction, site technical agenda for continuous improvement, process and cleaning validation programs.ResponsibilitiesAs a Data Scientist at Lilly del Caribe, Inc., Carolina, Puerto Rico you will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, automate process monitoring program, developing predictive models, perform multivariate analysis, leveraging generative AI, and identifying insights that can be used to drive business decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across the enterprise to understand business problems, develop hypotheses, and test those hypotheses with data.Lead the local SIMCA Program ongoing deployment and sustainability.Develop and implement machine learning algorithms to analyze large data sets Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business problems and provide data-driven solutions Communicate insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders Conduct research to identify emerging trends and technologies in data scienceManage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously Solve complex business problems with advanced analytics and AI/ML methods Develop and implement predictive modelsImprove data monitoring program Ensure data quality and accuracy Basic RequirementsPh.D. in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics focusing on Numerical Analysis, High Performance Computing, Engineering or other discipline related with at least 5 years related working experience.Experience with machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling Proficiency in programming languages.Additional Skills/PreferencesStrong analytical skills Problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills Attention to detailBasic to intermediate level background in oral solid dosage pharmaceutical manufacturing operation is highly desirable.Ability to work with diverse data sources and data types Familiarity with data visualizationAbility to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment  Experience with deep learning algorithms and reinforcement learning Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure Knowledge of generative AI applications Experience with data engineering and data pipeline development Strong leadership and project management skillsOther ConsiderationsThis position is based in Carolina, PR. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other parts of the organization and across multiple levels are essential. Flexibility is required to provide technical support and continuity to a 24 hours process operation. Candidate must also be willing to travel. The anticipated wage for this position is$52,500 - $154,000Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
