Job Summary:A Print Estimator plays a vital role in ensuring the profitability of our printing services by creating accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of printing projects. This role requires a strong understanding of printing processes, materials, and pricing, along with excellent communication and customer service skills. Key Responsibilities:Analyse customer requests and project specifications to determine printing requirements, including materials, quantities, turnaround time, and finishing options.Research and select the most cost-effective printing methods and materials based on project needs.Calculate accurate production costs, including labour, materials, equipment usage, and overhead.Utilize estimating software and pricing tools to generate detailed and professional estimates.Present estimates to clients in a clear and concise manner, explaining cost breakdowns and value propositions.Negotiate pricing with clients while maintaining profitability margins.Secure client approval on estimates and work orders.Maintain a database of pricing information for materials, labour, and equipment costs.Monitor industry trends and adjust pricing strategies accordingly.May assist with project planning and scheduling in collaboration with production teams (depending on experience).Maintain clear and accurate records of estimated and actual costs for project analysis.Continuously improve estimating accuracy and efficiency. Requirements and Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a printing environment or related field (desirable).Strong understanding of various printing processes, including digital printing, offset printing, and large format printing.Knowledge of different printing materials and their properties.Proficiency in estimating software and pricing tools.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to clients.Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on building positive relationships.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
