We are seeking a detail-oriented Transportation Planner - Remote to optimize transportation networks, improve routing efficiency, and reduce costs while ensuring timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will analyze data, coordinate with carriers, and develop strategies to enhance transportation operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of logistics software, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze transportation data (shipments, routes, carrier performance) to identify cost-saving opportunities. Develop and optimize transportation plans to improve efficiency and reduce delays. Collaborate with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth logistics operations.
Monitor and track shipments, resolving any transportation-related issues. Use transportation management systems (TMS), GIS tools, and Excel/Google Sheets for route planning. Evaluate carrier contracts, rates, and service levels to ensure cost-effectiveness. Generate reports on transportation KPIs (on-time delivery, freight costs, carbon footprint). Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in transportation planning. Support sustainability initiatives by optimizing fuel efficiency and reducing emissions. Qualifications & Skills: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred).
