This individual will play a crucial role in evaluating, structuring, and executing direct lending investments.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Support deal origination and execution across the full investment life cycle, including underwriting, due diligence, and portfolio monitoringBuild and maintain detailed financial models, including debt sizing, downside cases, and return analysisConduct comprehensive credit and industry analysis, including market research, sponsor evaluation, and competitive positioningPrepare investment committee materials and participate in investment discussionsInteract directly with borrowers, private equity sponsors, legal counsel and third-party advisors during deal executionMonitor portfolio performance and prepare periodic updates for internal and external stakeholdersAssist in the negotiation of term sheets, credit agreements, and other legal documentationAreas of Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Qualifications:2+ years of experience in private credit or investment banking (preferably within leveraged finance, M&A or industry coverage with exposure to credit)Strong understanding of financial statements, credit metrics, and capital structuresProven ability to build complex financial models with attention to detail and accuracyOutstanding reputation of professional integrity and maturityHighly motivated, proactive team player with a positive attitudeAbility to multi‐task, be proactive, work independently, and work effectively under pressure (often under deadlines and changing priorities)Excellent written and oral communication skillsComfortable interacting and building relationships with all teams (including senior management) across the firm and affiliated organizationsAbility to clearly articulate views and supporting data or rationaleExhibits a strong commitment to meet compliance obligations reflecting Octagon's core values of honesty and integrity; must accept responsibility for compliance in each role and comply with all applicable rules, regulations, and legal requirementsCompensation and Benefits:Competitive salary and eligibility for year-end performance-based bonusMedical, dental, vision, life, and disability insuranceCommuter benefits401(k) matching programProfit sharing programEmployee Assistance Program (“EAP”)Professional designation and licensure assistanceFamily support and leaves of absenceContact: Contact: careers@octagoncredit.comAttention: Howard Barkin, Recruitment ManagerOctagon Credit Investors is an equal opportunity employer.
