Private Equity Associate (Buyout) - Sydney

JS Careers is pleased to be working with a distinguished Australian private equity fund with the recruitment of multiple Investment Associates for their Sydney-based team. The firm has been a brand-name private equity investor for decades and is renowned as one of the most successful Buyout funds A/NZ history. As a Buyout fund, the team has a generalist sector approach, although there are particular strengths in the healthcare, IT, education, consumer and industrial spaces. Due to company growth, new capital to deploy and recent promotions, there are multiple opportunities for new Associates to join the team.As an Associate, this role will span all aspects of the investment cycle - assisting seniors with deal origination, navigating transaction execution and active involvement in portfolio development activities throughout the ownership period. We are seeking professionals with 1.5-4 years of experience from the leading investment banks, global consulting firms and direct investment funds as candidates for this position. Role Responsibilities:Investment origination and deal sourcing across all sectorsDue diligence - financial and commercial diligence of potential new investmentsTransaction execution - project management and leading advisors through accounting/tax/legal workstreamsFinancial analysis, valuation and modelling - for both new and existing investmentsAssist in raising debt finance to support investmentsDeveloping investment committee papers and client presentationsContributing to Investment Committee discussions on specific investmentsProviding direction and assistance to management teams of investee companiesSupporting portfolio companies with selected strategic projects and M&ACandidates must also possess the following:1.5-5 years of investment banking, consulting, funds management or private equity experienceTertiary degree in a relevant discipline (Commerce, Economics, Finance, Actuarial Studies, Engineering, and/or Law)Confident, friendly and professional approach with an ability to work as part of a team and alongside senior executives
