We are now looking for Process Engineer, Cleanroom process fabrication to join our Quantum photonics teamIn this position, you will play an essential role in developing, planning, and executing cleanroom fabrication for research and commercial projects. You will be responsible for advancing process engineering expertise and building competence in cleanroom technologies to meet both organizational and customer needs. You’ll take an active role in customer interactions, using your fabrication and integration know-how to drive excellence in photonics and quantum device technologies.Our Quantum Photonics team provides photonics solutions for a variety of quantum technologies, including photonic and superconducting quantum computers, quantum sensing, and quantum communication. Our focus is on quantum photonics integrated circuits (QPICs), where we develop cleanroom-fabricated building blocks for quantum technologies. Such developments are carried out in close collaboration with our academic partners and in alignment with our industrial stakeholders. The ultimate goal is to build critical QPIC and superconducting device components that enable next-generation quantum technologies.Your responsibilities as Process Engineer / Process Integrator:Developing and integrating cleanroom processes (sputtering, wet & dry etching, lithography, multilayer fabrication flows) for QPICs and superconducting devicesPlay a key role in quantum pilot line developments within VTTDriving process engineering for advanced photonics and superconducting device fabrication, including 3D integration, flip-chip bonding, and PIC assemblyActively developing and running cleanroom processesDocumenting the processes and in line and final characterizationsSupervising and mentoring younger researchers in cleanroom methods and process integrationWho we are looking for:You have an M.Sc. in physics, electronics, materials science, or a closely related fieldYou are a team player who collaborates, communicates effectively, and builds networksYou have several years of experience and a proven track record in cleanroom fabrication for photonics and superconducting devices, preferably including QPICs.Strong background in process integration and device characterization (SEM, AFM, XRD, EDS) is seen as an asset. Previous experience in industry or close collaboration with industrial partners is considered a plusExcellent process documenting and progress reporting to project manager and scientists in the projectExcellent communication skills in English are requiredAs a person, we hope that you are:You have strong communication and collaboration skills.
