Coupling end-to-end supply chain solutions and technology, Lineage partners with some of the world’s largest food and beverage producers, retailers, and distributors to help increase distribution efficiency, advance sustainability, minimize supply chain waste and most importantly, feed the world.Job Summary:We are seeking a Process Improvement Officer for our Global Integrated Solutions team, reporting to our “CI and Transformation Senior PM” based in the UK.The HQ is based in Rotterdam (Port City Building – Waalhaven) but the scope of your role will be projects in The Netherlands (Rotterdam), Belgium and sometimes even the UK.As a Process Improvement Officer within our dynamic transport and freight forwarding business, you will be instrumental in shaping the operational backbone of our organisation. With many of our processes currently undocumented or inconsistently applied, this role offers a unique opportunity to build and embed a culture of process excellence from the ground up.You will work across departments to uncover, document, and optimise end-to-end workflows, ensuring our operations are efficient, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices. This is a hands-on role that combines analytical thinking, stakeholder engagement, and a passion for continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:1. Process Discovery & DocumentationConduct interviews, workshops, and on-the-ground observations to understand how work is currently performed across transport and freight forwarding functions.Translate informal or ad-hoc practices into clear, standardised process documentation, including SOPs, flowcharts, RACI matrices, and process maps.Establish and maintain a centralised, accessible repository for all process documentation, ensuring it is regularly reviewed and updated.2. Process Excellence & StandardisationLead initiatives to harmonise and standardise processes across teams and locations, reducing variation and improving consistency.Identify inefficiencies, duplication, and manual workarounds, and propose practical, scalable solutions.Support the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process effectiveness and drive accountability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed a continuous improvement mindset and ensure new processes are adopted and sustained.3. Digital Enablement & ToolsWork with IT and systems teams to identify opportunities for automation and digital process improvements.Support the implementation of process management tools and platforms to enhance visibility, collaboration, and governance.4. Stakeholder Engagement & Change EnablementAct as a trusted partner to operational teams, building strong relationships to understand their challenges and co-create solutions.Facilitate workshops and training sessions to introduce new processes, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with business goals.Communicate process changes clearly and effectively, tailoring messaging to different audiences across the business.5. Compliance, Risk & Quality AssuranceEnsure all documented processes align with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.Identify and mitigate operational risks through robust process design and control measures.Your background:At least a Bachelor in a relevant area.Proven experience in a process improvement, operations, or business analysis role preferable within the transport, logistics, or freight forwarding industry.Understanding of transport and freight forwarding workflows, including booking, customs, documentation, and delivery processes.Excellent communication (in Dutch and English!) and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.Proficiency in process mapping and documentation tools (e.g., Visio or similar).Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and a passion for solving problems.Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen is highly desirable.Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment and willingness to travelWhat We Offer:This is a rare opportunity to shape and influence the operational foundation of a growing business.
