Job Description

Job Summary:We are looking for dynamic, driven and results oriented persons. Your focus must be one of exceptional service to clients and their needs, by meeting negotiated service standards & goals to effectively service our customers.As the Processing Clerk, you are responsible for providing administrative support to the PSC as well as those countries serviced by the Caribbean South Hub as outlined in the Service Level Agreement. You are responsible for acquiring and maintaining a good knowledge of all the accounting functions and systems supported by the unit in order to provide branch sales & service staff with the necessary level of support. You are to ensure that service provided is constantly of high quality, maintain the integrity of the processing by ensuring that Bank policies and procedures are followed and maximize the efficiency to contribute to the overall profitability of the Bank.Accountabilities:Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems and knowledge.Customer: Service ImprovementTaking full responsibility for assigned customer transactions/ processes, concerns and complaints by resolving those matters within assigned timeframes and/or by referring those matters to the next appropriate level of authority.Accurate processing of dollar / non-dollar transactions in accordance to Branch / Unit instructions.Maintain a good rapport and prompt response to branches/unitsRecord trending errors during processing/verification activities in order to provide management with a clear understanding of the root cause of exceptions for further action.Operations Management / Processing Administration Assist with the administrative support to the unit:Accurately process transactions within approved limits;Reconcile any out-of-balance conditions on a daily basis.Process accounting detail reports in the required mannerAssisting with the preparation/completion of the Accounting Support Packages including investigating documenting and resolving exception conditions.Adhering to Custody and Security procedures at all timesFor you and your team’s personal safety, adhere to all security procedures.Maintain confidentially of customer informationAvoid potential conflicts of interest by maintaining personal control over all assigned security accesses, including keys, combinations and passwords.Financial: Maximize the efficiency of the department Contribute to the overall profitability of the Bank:Remain current and knowledgeable of the Bank related products and services.Follow documented procedures and ensuring work is controlled throughout the day to contribute to the efficient operation of the unit.Escalate exceptions that may represent a negative impact to the Bank both Financial and CustomerIdentify / actively collaborate with the unit towards savings / cost reduction opportunitiesCompliance Meet Regulatory, Compliance, and Bank policies and procedures for Customer transactions by:Following documented procedures for the order in which transactions are to be completed.Obtaining approvals where transactions exceed your limit.Adhere to Bank security procedures with respect to assigned authorities and responsibilities.Ensure you and all of your team are familiar with and adhere to the Guidelines for Business Conduct, the Internet and Email Code of Conduct and the Financial Reporting Whistleblower Policy and Procedures.Document and escalate any unusual occurrences or fraudulent activity to your Compliance Office/Supervisor as soon as possible as per Anti-Money Laundering guidelines.Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. Education/ ExperiencePossession of at least five (5) CSEC/CXC subjects at Grades I or II, inclusive of Mathematics and English Language. Demonstrated proficiency in both oral and written communication, with strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage effectively across various levels.
