The role ensures the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective flow of materials, equipment, and services that support production and operational excellence.The position combines strategic and hands-on leadership in purchasing, inventory management, and supplier sourcing. The job holder also acts as a strategic purchasing liaison with our Company in India to leverage group synergies and best practices. In addition, the role includes managing and developing the Supply Chain Team to ensure coordination, efficiency, and continuous improvement across all functions.The position is suited to an individual from a value-added, process-driven industry—such as precious metals processing, pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, or food manufacturing—who brings structure, rigor, and operational expertise to a technically demanding, quality-focused environment.MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Procurement & SourcingManage the full procurement cycle for Castel San Pietro and Geneva, covering raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and services.Develop and implement sourcing strategies that optimize cost, reliability, and quality while meeting safety and sustainability standards.Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting processes to secure optimal commercial and technical terms.Identify and pursue opportunities for joint or strategic procurement with MMTC-PAMP India, particularly in key material categories.Drive continuous improvement in purchasing efficiency and supplier performance.Supply Chain LeadershipOversee the end-to-end supply chain, including planning, procurement, warehousing, logistics, and material flow.Lead, mentor, and develop the Supply Chain Team, ensuring strong alignment with production, engineering / services, maintenance, and finance departments.Implement and monitor KPIs related to material availability, lead times, cost efficiency, and service quality.Ensure robust supply chain resilience through risk management, forecasting, and proactive supplier relationship management.Optimize stock levels, turnover, and replenishment strategies to balance availability with working capital efficiency.Compliance, Quality, and DocumentationEnsure all procurement and logistics activities comply with MKS PAMP’s internal procedures, external regulations, and audit standards.Maintain transparent and traceable documentation across purchase orders, contracts, and supplier evaluations.Contribute to ISO, environmental, and sustainability compliance within the supply chain function.Cross-Site & Cross-Company CollaborationAct as the link between Castel San Pietro and Geneva sites, standardizing processes, tools, and supplier management practices.Liaise strategically with MMTC-PAMP India to share procurement insights, align supplier strategies, and explore selective sourcing synergies.Support group-level initiatives in sustainability, cost optimization, and supplier risk management.Performance & Continuous ImprovementMonitor market trends, supply risks, and logistics constraints to anticipate changes and mitigate disruptions.Drive cost-saving initiatives, process improvements, and digitalization projects within the supply chain.Cultivate a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and collaboration across the purchasing and logistics teams.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.5–7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, ideally in pharmaceutical, fine chemical, or food manufacturing industries.Proven leadership experience managing a supply chain or procurement team.Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and advanced procurement tools.Experience with multi-site and international collaboration is strongly preferred.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSExcellent communication skills and high drive;Sense of responsibility and initiative;Ability to work autonomously;Demonstrated track record of continuous improvement and innovative thinking both in approach and in practical effect;Resistance to stress and time-pressure;Excellent interpersonal skills and customer orientation;Agile and flexible mindset, reactive to requests;Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;Ability to interact with colleagues of diverse cultures; respect for diversity;Full professional proficiency in the Microsoft 365 environment is expected.Fluency in English and Italian; French is an asset.Swiss national, EU national, or holder of a valid Swiss work permit.
