About the RoleThe Procurement Manager position is a mid-to-senior level role responsible for leading and optimizing all procurement activities within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment. This onsite role, based in Dubai, focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and cost optimization to ensure a resilient and efficient supply chain. The position plays a critical part in supporting business growth, maintaining product availability, and driving operational excellence in a highly competitive market.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies tailored to the unique demands of the FMCG sector, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market trends.Lead the end-to-end sourcing process for raw materials, packaging, and indirect goods and services, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with local and international suppliers, focusing on quality, price competitiveness, and risk mitigation.Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, conducting regular performance reviews and fostering long-term partnerships.Monitor and analyze market trends, commodity prices, and supply chain risks to proactively adjust procurement plans and ensure business continuity.Collaborate closely with supply chain, production, quality assurance, and finance teams to synchronize procurement activities with operational requirements.Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, legal, and ethical standards, including import/export regulations and sustainability initiatives.Oversee procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier records, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness.Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and transparency.Manage and mentor a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.Prepare and present regular procurement reports, KPIs, and cost-saving analyses to senior management.Required Experience & SkillsProven experience (typically 7+ years) in procurement or supply chain management within the FMCG industry, with a strong understanding of the Dubai and broader GCC market dynamics.Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contract management for both direct and indirect categories.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, assess supplier performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, risk management, and compliance requirements relevant to FMCG operations.Proficiency in procurement and ERP software (such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics), as well as advanced Excel and reporting tools.Experience managing procurement teams, including recruitment, training, and performance management.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field is required.Professional certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply), CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), or equivalent are highly desirable.Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Supply Chain/Procurement) is an advantage.Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic or other regional languages is an asset.Tools & TechnologiesProcurement and ERP platforms: SAP, Oracle, Microsoft DynamicsE-sourcing and supplier management toolsAdvanced Excel and data analysis toolsContract management softwareMarket intelligence platforms for commodity and supplier analysisCommunication and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Slack) This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the efficiency and competitiveness of the supply chain in a leading FMCG company.
