Cross-functional collaboration helps us build out Thales’ capabilities in a robust way – and helps us open up new career opportunities for employees all across the business.In this 24-month Fixed Term Contract role, you will be responsible for securing the best procurement outcomes, ensuring competitiveness, quality, and on-time delivery while meeting customer needs.Key Activities And ResponsibilitiesLocated centrally in Woolloomooloo, on Gadigal land your role purpose will be -Responsible for all upstream procurement aspects of the allocated projectsEncourage professional and ethical procurement, as well as support best practicesProvide the best procurement solution and implement acquisition strategies aligned with targets for Time, Quality, Total Cost of Ownership, and Risk ManagementUpdate our procurement dashboard regularly to reflect progress and metricsCollaborate with Category Managers to finalize outstanding work packages and select suppliers through the PVet processWork closely with operational teams and Category Buyers to ensure effective execution of the Procurement planDefine and monitor contractual requirements to streamline acquisitionsProvide accurate and timely updates on the progress of the acquisition plan and Estimated Time to Completion within a dynamic project environmentTackle delivery challenges proactively to minimize schedule impacts in an agile wayPrioritize tasks based on customer and internal stakeholder needsKey Knowledge And ExperienceTo be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience: Significant project management exposure in a complex/agile environment in a similar role, or equivalent experience with a proven track record of delivering successful procurement project outcomesStrong commercial acumen and experienceDemonstrated ability to engage effectively with customers and suppliers to achieve desired outcomesExcellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with experience leading diverse teamsRelevant degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business, or a related fieldDefence industry experience is highly desirable but not essentialAbility to obtain Australian Defence clearances and availability to regional travel as requiredAs part of our commitment, we offer:Competitive remuneration + SuperThalesFlex – Hybrid work environmentRecognised leader in reservist employee support Veterans LeaveFitness Passport Discount – Access to a network of Gyms across AUS Employee discounts with a number of affiliates (Travel, Car hire, Tech, Medical Insurance)Modernised Paid Parental LeaveNovated Lease optionsFamily support through our partnership with Parents at WorkPersonal & professional training development opportunitiesSonder – Wellbeing & Support PartnerAccess to a network of the best people (A Nobel Prize winner on our staff list!)And much more!Good to KnowYou’ll get an email acknowledgement after you’ve applied, Thales strives to provide a personalised experience for all suitable applicants.As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, candidates Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate Australian Government clearance.
