Procurement Specialist – Vancouver, BCFull-Time | Mining & Metals SectorOur client, a leading global engineering and project delivery firm, is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join their Minerals & Metals business line in Vancouver. The company is known for delivering innovative, value-driven solutions across some of the world’s most complex projects, with operations in multiple countries and a strong focus on sustainability and excellence.About the RoleThe Procurement Specialist will be responsible for developing purchasing strategies, managing the procurement cycle, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and equipment for major engineering projects. This role requires strong coordination with project teams, suppliers, and clients to achieve project and organizational goals.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement purchasing strategies to achieve best value for materials and equipment.Improve lead time performance and ensure all scheduled deliverables are met as planned.Establish and maintain project delivery schedules, including tracking milestones and expediting supplier deliverables.Coordinate and prepare EOIs (Expressions of Interest) and RFPs (Requests for Proposals).Conduct supplier and client meetings to facilitate communication and resolve procurement issues.Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing and expediting information, including drawings, specifications, and related documents.Administer the full procurement cycle—from pre-qualification and bid evaluation through recommendation of award, expediting, inspection, delivery, and close-out.RequirementsDegree or diploma in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.3–7 years of procurement experience, preferably within consulting engineering or project-based environments.Experience with EPC/EPCM procurement automation systems (e.g., Smart Plant Materials) is an asset.Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.Experience in mining projects is considered an advantage.Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.Exceptional negotiation, networking, and organizational skills.
