Product and Business Development Manager

Product and business development management of selected instrumentation portfolio with a leading laboratory equipment supplier into Africa. Lasec SA is seeking a dynamic individual to join our product management team based in our Cape Town head office, focusing on our laboratory instrumentation product basket. Embrace the opportunity presented by our well-established portfolio of scientific and laboratory products, to support our customers and further grow our access to markets in South Africa and the rest of sub-Saharan Africa.Requirements that must be met:Bachelor of Science qualificationSpecialisation in chemistry, water purification and analysis or life sciences fields of studyPreference for candidate with laboratory experienceCommercial affinity for understanding business basics.Ability to function independently, and as part of a team.Must have the ability to produce results while working with multiple projects under tight deadlines.A good understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English which is the primary business language.A valid driver’s licenseSummary of duties and responsibilities:Overall responsibility for management of allocated product portfolio related to products, suppliers and categories covered.Optimally positioning and marketing Lasec value proposition in terms of allocated product portfolio and related products and services in targeted markets in South Africa and the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa.Business development activities to promote sales of allocated product portfolio.Use initiative, research and available resources to provide technical support and product recommendations to sales teams and customers for queried products.Support demand planning and purchasing strategy Build, develop and/or maintain positive supplier relations for allocated products Remuneration will be discussed at final interview stage.
